On Monday, April 4, 2016 Meyer, Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd will be issuing a press release formally announcing my retirement from full-time service to the company that I co-founded with Tom Meyer, FAIA and Garth Rockcastle, FAIA. My last day for full-time service will be September 30, 2016 which is the end of our fiscal year. Our first day of business was September 1, 1981–nearly 35 years ago. I began working with Tom and Garth when I was 33 years old; I am departing at 68 years old–roughly two equal chapters of 34 years each.

What lurks ahead for my next “34 year” chapter is only partially known. As I announced recently on this blog, I will begin a painting course in Florence, Italy in January of 2017 at the Angel Academy of Art. It will be in an intense class structured on learning “the basics” and “the rules.” Once known, I plan to warp and bend these rules to aid in my search for my own expression. I am confident that this third chapter will be my last.

Stay tuned for the continuing adventures…
