Lea and I are very excited that construction has begun on our new home. As you can see from this market photograph–taken at the main market in Merida, we will have a wonderful plethora of food and culture to dive into.

While we do not know for sure the exact date, it is fair to say that we will be able to sleep in our Mexico home by the end of next year. Ideally, we would celebrate New Year’s Eve 2013–the year I become 66. Since the property is now “real”, we will be spending a great deal of time deciding on the next steps: 1) what do we move from MN? 2) will we have a small apartment in MN? 3) When will we be there full time? 4) Can I part with some of my paper books? These and many other questions will be wrestled to the ground over the next 12 months. In the meantime, we are emotionally ready to move-on!
