Our Architect

After careful review and consideration, we chose Victor Cruz, the owner of Estilio Arquitectura. His web site is www.estiloyucatan.com. He has a wonderful grasp of the spirit of the Yucatan. His crew will also be building our house based on the design that Lea and I have completed. Of course, his intimate knowledge of local customs and technique will ensure that our design conforms to the local circumstances.

Jeff is an artist and retired architect living in Portland, Oregon. After practicing architecture in Germany, France and the United Kingdom from 1971 to 1977, he co-founded Meyer, Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd Architects in 1981 in Minneapolis, Minnesota (now called MSR Design). He was an adjunct professor from 1978-1998 at the University of Minnesota College of Design. Jeff was elevated to Fellow of the American Institute of Architects in 1998. For over 50 years his architectural interest and personal passion has been the public library and its important role in our communities.
