Next Step Complete: Visa in-hand

We received our entry visas from the Mexican government yesterday. This means we can now enter the country to begin the permanent visa process. After we receive the Mexican equivalent of a “green card” we can then import our household goods. This process will begin October 1. If all goes well, we will be completely “official” by the end of November at the latest. The house should be fully complete, including moving in our furniture, etc, by January 1, 2014. After that, I will continue to work regularly for MS&R–but instead of commuting from Minneapolis, I will be commuting from Merida. Lea and I are looking forward to our new home and keeping close contact with our many friends around the globe. Once we are settled, we will be able to receive those friends as guests in our new place.
