We are getting closer to completing the design of our new house. While we have much to finalize (stone, windows, screens, wall finishes, etc.) the basic form is progressing nicely. This image was compiled by our architect from my design. This Holiday weekend we will be finalizing the exterior courtyards, the details relating to the windows and screening, and making some final decisions about major planting material locations. I also will be looking at overhangs and locations that were required shading from the sun. We will be making a trip to Merida sometime around in the July to finalize these and many other things. The next step will be to get approval from the historic commission for the restoration of the original Hacienda on Calle 57.
